Lytham - 31st December 2011

The last walk of the year was a seven mile flat walk after my first ever bout of back pain put me off climbing any hills. Steve came up with a walk around Lytham which was to, hopefully, avoid too much mud after the constant rain we have had recently.

We parked in Bank Street at the back of The Taps and walked through the "back" of Lytham, out near British Aerospace in Warton, and back along part of the Lancashire Coastal Way. This took us passed the salt marshes which are home to a considerable amount of wildlife, but which on a day like today looked uninviting and bleak.

It all took about two and a half hours and was very enjoyable, if different from our usual walk. The Taps was inviting but after a bottle of red wine last night I was feeling a little delicate.
